Who is Andrea?

- End-of-Life Doula (pediatric/young adult focus). Provide comfort, console, support, compassionate education to dying individuals and families. Services provided at the farm, in hospice, at home, and other locations. Pursuing extended certification through International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA), July 2020
- Secular/humanist Chaplain & Celebrant through The Humanist Society and American Humanist Association (AHA).
- Trained in suicide awareness/intervention for first responders through International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), July 2019
- Currently pursuing her PhD at University of Glasgow, Scotland, with a focus on pediatric palliative work, flow states, and mindfulness in allowing the final chapter of life to be as smooth as possible for children with terminal illness and their families.
- Simultaneously completing Funeral Director program for NC license.
- 34 years of riding immersion; 32 years of competition. Certifications across multiple national associations/groups, and protégé to eight-time Olympian J. Michael Plumb (11+ years).
- Finishing certification for Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) as Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL), as well as Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI)
- Independent researcher/writer since 2017, focusing on grieving, dying, trauma, moral injury, attachment processes, healing
